I’m in the stage of the pandemic that I’m itching to buy loads of clothes and accessories because when the world opens up, I want to be a whole new person with a different sort of style. I’m looking forward to stepping out with more prints, color mixing, and unique pieces.
Importance of Black Style Influencers
If you’re like me, malls and in-person store shopping has been replaced with browsing Instagram and (my rediscovered love) liketoknow.it (@liketoknowit). Social media and content platforms are where inspiration happens – I have been inspired to elevate my wardrobe to better reflect my interest in artsy fashion, ethnic streetwear, and hipster style; I feel like I was such a boring dresser pre-pandemic and I’m ready to change that.
Online is always where I can have the convenience of seeing something I love and want and have either access to someone who can inform where I can purchase it from or get the direct links. I’ve never been one for brand names; I’m more interested in being thoughtful in working with lovely but inexpensive pieces for everyday.
I’m also at the point where I want to throw more support to Black style influencers and content creators because I don’t think they get as much love. I’m constantly opening these platforms, looking for women who look more like me not only in skin tone but in the curve of their hips and thighs. Black style influencers are always so helpful in their styling and shopping content and represent a group of women with an abundance of creative contributions. I’m so very glad that they are getting their moment in the social media spotlight.
So here, I’m highlighting some my favorite amazing style influencers from Instagram and LIKEtoKNOW.it… who just happen to be Black.
